Its a lie lol the most things released by volcanoes are easy to measure not just as they happen but core samples overtimes where we know volcanic eruptions both did and did not occur. If the volcanos were doing the earth harm by releasing loads the records both modern and sampled cores would be full of spikes indicating when volcanos were dumping huge amounts out.
